Community Charter

The Charter describes the principles Chapter IVXX intends to protect as the community grows. It is not a substitute for the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

1. The community exists for its members

Decisions should prioritize the health and usefulness of the community rather than traffic, advertising inventory, or commercial growth.

2. Member information is not a product

Chapter IVXX will not sell member information or use it to create advertising profiles.

3. Material changes should be visible

Significant changes to privacy practices, governance, moderation policy, funding, or ownership should be disclosed to the community rather than introduced quietly.

4. Moderation should be accountable

Members should be able to understand the rules they are being moderated under, and moderation practices should be capable of meaningful review.

5. Costs should be transparent

The community should have visibility into the meaningful costs required to operate Chapter IVXX and the way those costs are funded.

6. Governance should mature with the community

Administrative access may remain limited for security and operational reasons, but members should gain a meaningful voice in rules, moderation standards, and significant policy decisions as the community develops.

7. Privacy requires both technology and trust

Chapter IVXX can minimize exposure and unnecessary collection, but no community can technically prevent a member from copying information they are allowed to see. Members are expected to respect one another’s privacy.
